Whenever children are together, there will be those that are naturally outgoing and sharing, and others that are more shy and introverted. At Discoverie by Vinci School in Mountain Lakes, we encourage children to positively interact with each other, but we understand that there will be disputes and quarrels over toys, playground equipment, and other objects and territory in our daycare. Our staff is knowledgeable and experienced, and will work with every child to teach proper social skills so problems can be avoided as much as possible.
Teaching Children to Respect Differences
Children of many distinct backgrounds are enrolled in our daycare center, and we encourage every child to respect the others in their class. We know that the first time a child encounters someone that looks or acts differently than they do, the child will most likely be curious or have questions about their classmates. If a child begins to be bossy to a new classmate or territorial during an activity or with a certain toy, it’s important for them to understand how their actions are affecting the other child. We will explain the consequences of verbal or physical abuse, and if an incident occurs, speak with the parents of the children involved as soon as possible.
We want every child at Discoverie by Vinci School in Mountain Lakes to have a positive experience each and every day. We know that arguments will happen, and children will not always get along with each other. We strive to create a safe and encouraging environment where children can grow and learn more about the world around them, as well as more about the children they interact with on a daily basis.
